Tell Us about you:

I’m Carlee! I’m a writer, entrepreneur, sommelier, expert traveler, wife and dog mom. I’m also a first time mom-to-be (November). I live in Calgary, Canada. I love the outdoors and am a huge hockey fan.

What do you do?

I am a lifestyle blogger! My blog is called Styled to Sparkle and the goal is to share helpful information on “life and style for the real girl”. I blog about all things home and away – travel, interior design, fashion and beauty, wine and spirits, and so much more.

What are three words that describe you?

Cheerful, helpful, happy.

What brings you joy?

If I can provide useful advice, a guide or tip sheet, inspiration or something helpful to someone else, that brings me joy. It’s why I started my blog – to provide “everything you need to know about…” to make the lives of others easier.

What do you do when you need to reset?

I take my dog for a walk. Every night after dinner, after the work day is done and the dishes are put away, my husband and I take our little pup, Hattie, for a walk. It allows us to chat about the day’s happenings and relax and reset our minds so we can enjoy our evening together.

How do you give back to your community?

There are a number of charitable organizations that I am passionate about supporting, but in terms of giving back with my time, I love to do workshops, podcast interviews and speaking engagements where I can share my business experience, answer questions and offer advice to other female entrepreneurs.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

“Remember why you started” is probably the best piece of advice I’ve been given. That, or to always stay true to your “why”. It’s so easy to get off track with your goals and business objectives and remembering why I started in the first place seems to keep me focused.

What is your biggest learning?

I am always trying to read books by female authors and entrepreneurs and seek out mentors that I can learn from.

If you could have coffee with anyone who would it be and why?

Rachel Hollis – I love how unapologetic she is about her success and her determination to achieve her goals. I’d love to meet her in person and capture some of that energy!

What is your favourite piece of jewelry?

I really love earrings, there are so many different styles and you can have so much fun with them. Right now I love my pair of thin gold hoops, they are on the larger side but still thin enough not to over power and they go with so much!
