Tell Us about you:
I was born and raised in Calgary. I am the owner and jeweller behind Jewelry By Saveria. I am also a wife, and mother to an amazing little boy. My family is super important to me, and I love spending time with them as much as I can. I am laid back and try not to stress the little things too much. I believe that what you get out of this world is a reflection of what you give, so always be kind and appreciate the little things!
What do you do?
I am the owner/jeweller of Jewelry by Saveria. Jewelry is so much more then just an accessory, its personal. It should be emotional and have a special meaning to you; and it should make you feel pretty! I design and make jewelry with sterling silver and gemstones that I hope will do just that.
What are three words that describe you?
Meticulous, humble, passionate.
What brings you joy?
I love being able to spend time with my family and creating new memories with my son.
What do you do when you need to reset?
I find it really helpful to unplug and give myself time to recharge without distractions, something as simple as enjoying some quiet time with a cup of tea just gives me that time I need to gather my thoughts and enjoy life around me - even if its for 5 minutes!
How do you give back to your community?
I try to do as much as I can for others and think helping out in any way possible is really important. I donate to various foundations that will help the less fortunate as often as possible, any way that you can give back to the community can go a long way. I also donate pieces of my jewelry to local events to raise funds for scholarships and more.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Be true to who you are and don’t let others change you, ever!
What is your biggest learning?
The greatest thing I have learned over time, especially since becoming a mom, is that it is okay to say no. In the past, I would always be afraid to say no because I wouldn’t want to disappoint anyone, especially when it came to jewelry. But as I have grown up, I have learned that if I am doing something just for the sake of doing it rather that believing in it with all I have to offer and giving it my all, then it’s not really worth it for anyone. Our time is precious, and we should spend it doing what we love, and putting our full heart and soul into everything we do.
If you could have coffee with anyone who would it be and why?
This is a tough one, there are so many people I would love to meet and chat with, but at this moment I would say Lady Gaga. I love the fact that she’s true to who she is and what she believes in regardless of what others may say, and I think that is something we can all learn from!
What is your favourite piece of jewelry?
I really love earrings, there are so many different styles and you can have so much fun with them. Right now I love my pair of thin gold hoops, they are on the larger side but still thin enough not to over power and they go with so much!
